In a few years these bookmarks will be a century old. A Claude E. Nichols had the original idea of presenting their customers with a calendar with a detachable bookmark. The firm Claude E. Nichols doesn't exist any more but curiously it does exist the firm that made these calendars: Brown and Bigelow, still devoted to production of promotional items.
I bought these two calendars a few days ago and they have already become one of the jewels of my collection. Not only because the bookmarks are really beautiful and elegant, but because, furthermore, the promotional idea of the calendar-bookmark is lovely to me! Claude E. Nichols had, indeed, very good taste

Few weeks ago I was looking for some rubber stamps on the net when I found by chance a stamp featuring a book with a bookmark. It was described, I don't know why, as a Bible, and it was sold as a religious stamp. I didn't have any doubt, that stamp had to be into my collection, although it was not a bookmark. And it is here. I hope you like it
Mirage Bookmark's website is a referent for all bookmarks' collector. There, we can read a lot of interesting articles, contact with other collectors, buy online their pretty and elegant bookmarks, etc. Now, the Mirage Bookmark's owners have organized a very original and funny contest. It consists in giving an answer to the famous Steven Spielberg's question: "Why pay a dollar for a bookmark? Why not use the dollar for a bookmark?"
I don't know whether some of you has thought about having a day devoted, exclusively, to the bookmarks. An American Bookmarks' Collector, Monica Schroeder, has had the brilliant idea of proclaming the March, 15th as the Bookmarks Day this year.
